             ITINERARY

  Each customized tour last 2-3 hours with the aim of immersing visitors
  in township life and introducing people to our customs and traditions.
  You will be picked up from your establishment or place of accommodation
  by a Minibus taxi,  driven by one of Charlotte's friends. African music sets
  the pace for the journey.
 First up is a drive through Mondesa with Charlotte explaining some
  of its background and history on Mondesa and its people,   and ...  

  • Learn some history,  
    (Mondesa was established in the early 1950s to provide housing for blacks
      working in Swakopmund)

  • Understand the different cultures
    (You will meet people from Herero, Damara, Owambo and Nama origin and
      learn some of their culture)

  • Visit points of interest
    (the current TB Clinic used to be the hospital and HIV counseling use to
      be the mortuary, the DRC etc)

  • Learn about traditional dress
    (The Beautiful Herero dresses with there many layers and a three-cornered
      head-dress to name but one
    )

  • See a demonstration of mahango preparation
    (First sifted and then pounded by wooden blocks, then sifted through the
      oshililo ...) 

  • Taste some traditional Oshiwambo food and drink
    (Eat some Mopany worms and drink some Oshikundu made by soaking
      Mahango overnight)

  • Enjoy children dancing
    (Watch children dancing to the rhythm of drums, kicking up dust and
      enjoying every minute)
